Build a Community of Colleagues and Ethics CEU:
“Understanding and Working with Erotic Transference
and Counter Transference”
1 AASECT CE and
1 Texas ETHICS CEU (Counts toward 50% Rule)
Healers that work with erotically marginalized clients report feelings of isolation and being “the only one” and are often erotically marginalized themselves. One way that professionals can ease those feelings is to build a community of colleagues who also work with the erotically marginalized (Constantinides, Sennott, & Chandler, 2019).
Join other sexual health professionals virtually to network, connect, and for a 1 hour AASECT and Texas Ethics CEU on “Understanding and Working with Erotic Transference and Counter Transference”. In a 2022 research study ((Vesentini, Van Overmeire, Matthys, De Wachter, Van Puyenbroeck, & Bilsen),
70.6% of therapists who responded shared that they had been sexually attracted to a client. Many therapists feel unprepared to deal with erotic transference/countertransference issues. This 1 hr. Ethics CEU will define and provide ethical ways to respond to erotic transference/ countertransference. There will also be small group time to share experiences of erotic transference/countertransference and identify professionals in our community that can support therapists experiencing erotic transference/countertransference with clients.
There will be an optional additional 30 minutes from 12:30 - 1:00 pm to stay on and network with other sexual health professionals
